Through the Volunteerism Always Pays (VAP) program, the Walmart ROC team assembled 21,000 Tech Cards for the 2016-2017 academic year. In addition to the gift of time, this VAP event provided funds to the Library Foundation to support BPL’s 2017-2018 program.
The Bentonville Library Foundation’s 1st Annual Loyalist Luncheon was attended by sixty library supporters, including local officials. The event provided attendees with an opportunity to hear keynote speakers Dr. Katherine Auld and Mr. Larry Haug about their inspirations for working in the space science and astronomy field.
Representatives from the Rotary Club of Bentonville presented the Bentonville Library Foundation with a $10,000 gift to support Bentonville Public Library. On Monday, March 13th the Bentonville Library Foundation received their See Change for Organizations Gold Level Certificate from the Nonprofit Change Project. The certificate is awarded to nonprofit organizations that have completed months of training to improve their practices.
Emily Douglas, recipient of the 2016 Friends of the Bentonville Library’s inaugural “Best Friend Award” for exhibiting long-term commitment and making specific contributions such as executive committee work, supporting the book store and book sales, as well as many other volunteer activities.
Mary Baggett, recipient of 2016 Library’s inaugural “Distinguished Service Award” for her active participation and long-term contributions to the furtherance of BPL’s mission through significant work and achievements that substantially influenced library services to our community.
Brenda Compton, recipient of 2016 Bentonville Library Foundation’s inaugural “Outstanding Advocate Award” for her substantial, long-term contributions to the Foundation that significantly benefited the Library through the form of volunteerism, advocacy and donations.

A very big thank you to Rai and his mother Lisa for spending weekend family time helping weed the Caboose Park flower gardens. The park is in great need of attention and replenishing its perennial beds. The Bentonville Garden Club will be assisting with the project under their City Beautification Project.

The 2014 Holiday Giving Campaign was the most successful campaign held as the Foundation received donations up to $30,000 designated towards BPL's growing needs. Included in the funds was a special tribute to retired City Councilwoman Mary Baggett.

Well over $14,000 was donated by over 100 donors who support the Bentonville Public Library as well as the Bentonville Library Foundation. The donor's names will appear on a newly installed appreciation panel in the foyer of the Library.
“Get On Board With the Library,” a campaign supporting holiday donations, is being spearheaded by Tim Summers, former Representative from the Arkansas Legislature. The Bentonville Library Foundation is sponsoring the campaign to support our local library.
On September 22nd, Brenda Compton and Kathy Jones represented both the Friends and the Foundation at the Family Literacy Day held by the Library in partnership with the Bentonville Public Schools. BPL had over 450 participants in this year's event.
